Submit your Student Grant Application
NSMMS & CRASTE is pleased to announce the student grant program for this year's symposia. This program, funded by the Air Force Research Laboratory’s Rocket Lab and additional Industry Sponsors, is intended to encourage student participation and provide networking opportunities for students with representatives from industry, academia, and government. Applicants are required to either give an oral or a poster presentation of their research at the event. To be considered for oral presentation, abstracts and applications must be submitted by the abstract deadline. After this date, applicants will only be considered for poster presentations.
Eligibility:
Full-time graduate or undergraduate students in good academic standing are eligible to apply. All applicants must be U.S. Citizens and have a DD 2345 (if not a military or government employee). All students must be taking summer courses or doing research over the summer to be covered by the University DD 2345. Students do not need individual DD 2345 certifications, but may fall under their school department's DD 2345. See the security page for more information on this. Abstracts on your suggested topic (300 words or less) are required with the application.
Work-Trade Option:
The work-trade program gives you a complimentary registration to NSMMS & CRASTE in return for working 2 of the 4 days of the conference as either an Audio-Visual Support Assistant in the technical session or a Door Guard/Badge Checker. We will do our best to match volunteer's schedules with the times and days they would like to work. Training will be provided on-site. If you are interested in this please contact Amy Voisard at avoisard@blue52productions.com. Student grant recipients are also welcome to do this as a way to stretch their grant funds further. If you are interested in this option, please indicate so on your grant application form.≈
Funding:
The award will cover admission into the conference and a portion of travel costs.
Job/Application Board:
There will be an online job board board that students may post their resumes/CVs to and employers may post job openings. We encourage you to take advantage of this if you will be in the job market soon.
Excellence Awards for Technical Session Posters:
Cash awards will be given to the top three participating student posters. The top three student poster presenters will be recognized at the close of the conference. Their cash prizes will be mailed to them shortly after the event.
