Museum of Indian Arts and Culture

The outstanding collection showcases classic and contemporary Southwestern Indian paintings, sculpture, pottery, jewelry, basketry and weaving. A permanent exhibition tracing the life of American Indians, "Here Now and Always" was curated in part by Native American elders, scholars and tribal members.

The first U.S. institution devoted to the first truly global culture, the Museum of Spanish Colonial Art opened to the public on Sunday, July 21, 2002. This new institution inaugurated its 12,000 square foot facility in Santa Fe with an exhibition titled Conexiones: Connections in Spanish Colonial Art,  featuring works drawn entirely from its outstanding permanent collections.

Cerrillos Hills State Park

There are 1,100 years of mining history in these hills which can be seen by hiking, biking, or horseback riding on the 5 miles of trail among rolling juniper savanna.  Entry is just $5 per vehicle.

El Rancho de las Golondrinas is a living history museum located on 200 acres in a rural farming valley just south of Santa Fe, New Mexico. The museum, dedicated to the history, heritage and culture of 18th and 19th century New Mexico, opened in 1972. Villagers clothed in the styles of the times show how life was lived on the frontier in early New Mexico. Special festivals and weekend events offer visitors an in-depth look into the celebrations, music, dance and many other aspects of life in the Spanish, Mexican and Territorial periods of the Southwest.

The Broken Saddle Riding Company offers horsebackriding on well conditioned smooth riding Tennessee Walkers and Missouri Foxtrotters through the beautiful Cerrillos Hills Historic Park (New Mexico State Park). San Ildefonso Pueblo

San Ildefonso was home to renowned potter Maria Martinez and her husband, Julian, who developed their famous black-on-black matte pottery, introduced to the world by Maria at the 1904 World Fair in St. Louis. Many potters continue to create the black-on-black style and San Ildefonso today remains a major arts community, where visitors can purchase work from artists' homes. Visitors can learn more at the Maria Poveka Martinez Museum and the San Ildefonso Museum.
