The International Zetta-exawatt Science & Technology Center aims at mustering the scientific community behind Laser-based High Field Fundamental Physics. As a potential driver of such physics we have proposed a novel fibre-based laser architecture called « ICAN ». By combining both high-average and high-peak power with high electrical efficiency, a new paradigm of laser technology is in reach, potentially opening up many new horizons. For example, such a laser could power many space-based applications including laser-propulsion and the remediation of space debris.

10th International Conference on Photoexcited Processes and Applications, August 29 – September 2, 2016, Brasov, Romania

The topics range from fundamental laser - material interactions, theory and modeling to applications with nanoparticles and nanophotonics as well as photoexcitations. The conference intends to create an atmosphere for scientific presentations at the forefront of the field and an informal exchange of ideas in a relaxing environment. Peer-reviewed papers submitted at the conference will be published in a Special Issue of Applied Surface Science.
