NSMMS & CRASTE is pleased to announce the student travel grant program for this year’s symposium at the Renaissance Indian Wells Resort & Spa, in Indian Wells, CA. This program is intended to encourage student participation and provide networking opportunities for students with representatives from industry, academia, and government. The competitive grant program is designed to cover a portion of costs associated with attending the symposium including travel, student registration fee, lodging and meals (government per diem rates). Applicants are required to either give an oral presentation or a poster presentation of their research at the symposium.

Eligibility: Graduate or undergraduate students in good academic standing are eligible to apply. All applicants must be U.S. persons (U.S. born or naturalized citizens or Permanent Residents with U.S. Green Cards). Abstracts on your suggested topic (300 words or less) are required with the application.

Funding: Award amounts are variable depending on needs, but are typically around $1,000. This award can be applied to things such as registration costs, travel (airfare or auto mileage), accommodations, and government per diem - under federal guidelines. Awards will be given in two rounds

  • Awards will be announced Apr 14, 2017. Applications due by Apr 7th at 11 am ET.
  • Excellence Awards for Posters: Cash awards will be given to the top three participating student posters. Poster will be reviewed on site by a selection panel and awards will be made at the Wednesday evening reception.

    • 1st Place Student Poster Excellence Award $500
    • 2nd Place Student Poster Excellence Award $300
    • 3rd Place Student Poster Excellence Award $200
