The Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) is offering a tour for 2017 ICT Attendees on Friday, August 4th 2017. This tour is free of charge. You are responsible for providing your own transportation. If you drive a car, visitor parking is complimentary. If you would like to take public transportation, there is a bus stop by the Pasadena Convention Center with a drop off near JPL. Tours are expected to include a multimedia presentation on JPL entitled "Journey to the Planets and Beyond," which provides an overview of the Laboratory's activities and accomplishments. Guests may also visit the von Karman Visitor Center, the Space Flight Operations Facility, and the Spacecraft Assembly Facility.
The tour is limited to the first 50 people that sign up. Priority will be given to conference attendees first, accompanying persons package holders next, and all other guests after that. The tour lasts approximately 2.5 to 3 hours.
JPL requires that all U.S. citizens, 18 years of age or older, present official, government issued photo identification (driver's license or passport) before being allowed entry. Legal permanent residents must have their green card and foreign nationals must show their passport. Individuals without proper identification will not be admitted to the Laboratory. Please be advised that tours involve a considerable amount of walking and stair climbing. Wheelchair access can be accommodated with advance notice, however wheelchairs cannot be provided. Don't forget to dress for the weather as the tour will proceed rain or shine!
