Giving Back to the Community
By attending the Bakken Oil Workers & Oil Service Expo you are giving back to the local community. Not only do events like this drive revenue directly into local economy, but each year a portion of the proceeds go to selected charities.
Recipients
Two recipients will be chosen for the next event and will be announced toward the end of the year. If you are interested in nominating your non-profit charity, send an email to Michelle at mkw@blue52productions.com. Please provide information about the non-profit and how it is having a positive impact on the Bakken region.
2013 Recipients included:
Dakota Boys & Girls Ranch - $10,000
Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch (DBGR) was established in 1952 with a mission to help at-risk children and their families succeed in the name of Christ. Each day, DBGR serves 99 boys and girls ages 10 up to age 18 in: residential and shelter care in Minot, N.D. (main campus); the residential program in Bismarck; the residential programs in Fargo; and children ages 5-17 at the Safe Home in Fargo. It also serves children in grades 1-12 in day treatment programs offered through its private, nationally-accredited Dakota Memorial Schools. DBGR provides a holistic model of care and is attentive to each child’s unique issues. We offer a place to live, learn, hope and heal.

Hope Village, Minot, ND - $10,000
Hope Village serves as the central volunteer management point in Minot following the 2011 Souris River flood. Utilizing the collaborative efforts of multiple faith-based partners, Hope Village provides housing and meals for out-of-town volunteers. It also matches teams with rebuild jobs and supplies tools for the assignments.

The Salvation Army of Williston, ND - $10,000
The Salvation Army of Williston, ND has been providing Hope, Help, & Healing to Williams county and surrounding areas for over a century. The Salvation Army started it’s ministry in Williston, ND in 1908 and to this day strive to fulfill the organizations overall goal of “Doing the Most Good” by “meeting human needs where they lay, in His name without discrimination.” Today The Williston Salvation Army is quite different than in 1908. With four-times the demand & increase in the various Social Services that they provide, the Salvation Army continues to be at work in the heart of the Bakken region and will continue to serve as a reliable source to provide hope, help, & healing for the physical & spiritual needs of the Bakken.
